Our Disposal Process

Over our years of experience we have produced and fine tuned our disposal service.

  • A mutually beneficial agreement is entered into for the disposal.
  • An idea of the quantity and type of waste is noted.
  • If the quantity is only sufficient for a part load we will try and consolidate it with other collections to make the best use of resources.
  • The collection is made and either a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note (HWCN) or Waste Transfer Note (WTN) is produced as appropriate.
  • Delivery is made direct to our secure warehouse.
  • A primary sort is made seperating the waste for recycling from equipment suitable for refurbishing.
  • Waste for recycling is further sorted for delivery to appropriate recycling centres.
  • Re-marketable equipment is processed in the workshop.
    • All items are tested for functionality.
    • Repairs are made where viable.
    • Suitable items are refurbished and the waste is stored for recycling.
    • Data is securely erased from hard drives.
  • Tested and refurbished items are resold individually, via our eBay shop or our sister organisation The Ethical Computer Company.
  • A report is made to the customer if requested. This may be an asset list, resale detail, disposal information, data destruction register etc.
