Printer Disposal and Recycling

laser-printer-recycling

Printers are very difficult to recycle. Unlike other computer equipment, their use of plastics is extensive. Our aim is to reduce waste associated with the recycling of printers as much as possible. Due to the high plastics content, elimination of waste entering the landfill chain cannot be totally eliminated at present. All laser printers and photocopiers such as HP, Canon, Epson and Lexmark are passed on to our engineers for recycling, refurbishment and redistribution where practicable.

Toner cartridges are removed and sent for reconditioning and refilling, thus removing waste produced by these from the landfill chain. The result is a carbon footprint very close to zero.

Laser Printers are re-used wherever possible in-house, either to help maintain existing units or to provide worthy causes with a useful low cost printing solution.

Printers found to be obsolete or beyond reuse are recycled.
